CO SISTERCONCLUSION              
MAY 16-1998 - OCTOBER 1-2006            "MISS BELLE" 
Even though  her life was short and her time at Sundancer Farm was shorter than we would have liked, the impact she made on our hearts boosted the understanding and effort that we needed to do more for horses that fall into the situations of abuse-neglect-unwanted and uncared for. Belle as she was known on the farm was a beautiful chestnut solid paint mare. But as fate found it's way, neglectful eyes looked the other way when she foundered. So not able to be a " useful riding animal"  because laminitis  had crippled her, her  owners at the time bred her, to try to get something back for their vet expenses.     When she came up for bidding at a slaughter auction, her big, soft eyes spoke to me as the price of her "worthiness" was shouted out over the loudspeaker. At the end, this beautiful mare carrying a foal went for a mere $200  because she was lame. I've never spent $200 better than I did on that day.   On July 12,2006 she had a colt. He was a cute thing,  4 white stockings, an apron face with 1 blue eye, the other brown and just as curious about  the world as could be.     But as fate would have things for Belle, the laminitis had progressed because of the weight from being in foal. So on October 1st 2006, when her son was only 2 1/2 months old, Belle crossed over the Rainbow Bridge . Our promise from then on was to try as much and as hard as we possibly can to make as many   neglected,abused,starved unwanted and unloved horses feel a need a purpose and the dignity they deserve.   Some stay for just awhile until they find their "FOREVER" homes. Some will stay at Sundancer Farm as their needs are far too many, and unfortunately some cross the Rainbow Bridge never having the chance to know a loving forever home at all in their lives. So to this, we dedicate a very special part of our efforts to Belle, as she has inspired us to be committed to trying even harder for the equines in need.
